Dean Ozen aka Jazzy Hoofer Bio
Dean Ozen is a professional musical theatre artist specializing in tap dancing. He has literally performed all over the world on land and at sea. Dean has spent the past 14 years traveling the world performing cabaret shows such as The Magic and Illusion of Dean Ozen in the United Kingdom. He performed on the world’s most luxurious cruise lines such as Cunard, Holland America, Celebrity, Norwegian, Carnival, and Festival Cruise Lines. Dean has also performed in many industrial shows such as the World Petroleum Congress with So You Think You Can Dance judge Sean Cheeseman.
Dean is a graduate of The Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, BC. He received awards and began his musical theatre career. He is now a member of the Canadian Actors Equity Association for professional entertainers. Dean’s most recent credits include starring as the featured tap dancer in All Shook Up at Theatre Northwest in Prince George, BC. He also starred as Troy in High School Musical for Broadway Live Broadway in Grand Prairie, as well as Chip in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the Prince George Playhouse. Dean has appeared four times at the Chemainus Theatre Festival in Oklahoma (Will Parker Understudy) Annie (Dance Captain), Pinnocchio (Lead Role), and Hello Dolly.
Dean is excited to be back in his hometown of Calgary, AB. His latest passion is pursuing his love for tap dancing also called “hoofing”. Dean incorporates his strong dance technique with tap dancing and creates his tap alias: The Jazzy Hoofer! He has created his own Tap Dancing and Singing show exploring the history of tap dancing, various styles and music, and tributes to the legends of the stage.
